  • City assessors to inspect residential properties north of Highway 16

    Lloydminster, AB/SK - Residential assessors from the City of Lloydminster will inspect properties north of Highway 16 (44 Street) throughout the summer.
    The International Association of Assessing Officers recommends municipalities conduct these inspections on a five-year rotation. They were last conducted in this area of Lloydminster in 2019.

  • Notice of development permit issuance for single detached dwelling

    Lloydminster, AB/SK - The City of Lloydminster Council has designated lands as Direct Control of which Council may regulate and control the use and development of the land or buildings in any manner they consider necessary. Section 641 (4a), Despite Section 685 of the Municipal Government Act, if a decision with respect to a development permit application with respect to a direct control zone is made by Council, there is no appeal to the Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – City of Lloydminster Administration and Lloydminster Public Library (LPL) representatives have explored the process and rationale for transitioning the Library to a municipal library in Saskatchewan and summarized the findings in a report presented to Lloydminster City Council on Monday, June 24, 2024. 

  • Lloydminster Fire Department and Lakeland College strengthen partnership with equipment exchange

    Lloydminster, AB/SK - The Lloydminster Fire Department and Lakeland College’s Emergency Training Centre (ETC) have announced a significant step in their ongoing partnership. The department has given vehicle extrication equipment to the ETC in exchange for training credits at the facility, signifying the department’s continued collaboration in preparing the next generation of emergency responders.

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster hosted a grand opening ceremony and facility tours on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, to celebrate the completion of its new mechanical wastewater treatment facility.

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster is honouring the life of Glenn Fagnan, a two-term seated City Councillor, a Rotarian of more than 30 years and the executive director of the Border City Connects Society, who passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at the age of 65.

  • Updated: June 17 GPC meeting cancelled

    UPDATE (11:05 a.m. on June 17, 2024): Unforeseen circumstances have necessitated the cancellation of the governance and priorities committee meeting scheduled for June 17, 2024. All items on the agenda will be moved to the June 24, 2024, council meeting.
