  • Lloydminster Fire Department invites community to Fire Prevention Week Open House

    In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, the Lloydminster Fire Department will host an Open House at Fire Station #2 (2706 59 Ave) on October 8, 2024, from 3:30 p.m –7:30 p.m. This event offers an opportunity for the community to learn about fire safety, meet local firefighters, and explore the station.

  • Lloydminster Museum + Archives to host Canada’s British Home Children Presentation

    The Lloydminster Museum + Archives will host a presentation, “Canada’s British Home Children – Almost Forgotten,” on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. 

  • Lloydminster Fire Department responds to structure fire at Pioneer Lodge

    At approximately 2:25 p.m. on September 9, 2024, the Lloydminster Fire Department was dispatched to a confirmed structure fire at the Pioneer Lodge. Fire crews arrived on the scene, located the fire and were able to extinguish it quickly. In addition to fire suppression efforts, traffic control was implemented in the area, and a full evacuation of the structure was initiated, with more than 170 residents and staff safely evacuated.

  • Grand Opening of New Bowsfield Playground

    The City of Lloydminster is pleased to announce the grand opening of the new Bowsfield Playground at 5323 23 Street. This new playground replaces the previous one, which had reached the end of its serviceable life. The new playground will enhance play and recreational options for residents of the College Park neighbourhood and surrounding area. 

  • Spray Park to Close Monday, September 9, 2024

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – In preparation for cooler temperatures, the Lloydminster Spray Park in Bud Miller All Seasons Park will close for the season beginning Monday, September 9, 2024, and looks forward to welcoming everyone back in Summer 2025.

  • Public Ceremony to Celebrate New Sculpture at Messum Park

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has a new public art sculpture called Into the Mystic installed at 53 Avenue and 26 Street at Messum Park. The sculpture is the creation of local artist, Mick Classen, and is the newest addition to the City of Lloydminster's public art program.

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Bry-Tan Trucking & Crane Service announced a significant sponsorship of $60,000 for Cenovus Energy Hub, Lloydminster’s premier recreation and entertainment facility currently under construction.

  • Precision Contractors invest in Lloydminster’s future with Cenovus Energy Hub sponsorship

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – Standing on the job site he helped shape, Precision Contractors Ltd President, Frank Tremmel, proudly announces their sponsorship at Cenovus Energy Hub. This latest sponsorship announcement was made on July 17, 2024, with Mayor Gerald Aalbers accepting a cheque for $30,000 on behalf of the Cenovus Energy Hub project. The three meeting rooms in the building will be named after Precision, thanks to this generous sponsorship.

  • Portion of 52 Street Closed Due to Asphalt Spill on Roadway

    Lloydminster, AB/SK – A significant liquid asphalt spill on 52 Street has forced a temporary road closure between 50 Avenue and 62 Avenue.

    The Lloydminster Fire Department responded to the incident late Sunday evening to assist with shutting down the roadway.
