Lloydminster Museum + Archives to host "Black History in Canada – Lived Experiences & Stories Untold" exhibit

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The Lloydminster Museum + Archives will be hosting "Black History in Canada – Lived Experiences & Stories Untold," a temporary exhibit running from February 3 to 28, 2025. The exhibit features personal collections and archival holdings, offering a unique opportunity to reflect on Black heritage in conjunction with Archives Week.

During Black History Month, people in Canada celebrate the many achievements and contributions of Black Canadians and their communities who, throughout history, have done so much to make Canada a culturally diverse, compassionate, and prosperous country. Black History Month is an important time to learn more about the rich and vibrant beauty of Black heritage.

Join the Lloydminster Museum + Archives for an evening celebration on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to hear local speakers share their experiences. Their presentations offer unique perspectives on Black history, culture, and the significance of Black heritage in Lloydminster. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at Lloydminster.ca/LMAPrograms

The exhibition is managed by the Lloydminster Museum + Archives.

The Lloydminster Museum + Archives acknowledges that its collections are limited in representing Black heritage in our community. If you, or someone you know, would like to share your own histories, do not hesitate to let us know.
