Every second week organics collection resumes October 30
Lloydminster, AB/SK – As the end of the month approaches, the City of Lloydminster wants to advise residents that starting October 30, 2023, the City will pick up organics every second week.
This change aligns with the City's commitment to ecological waste management. Notably, during the colder months, there is approximately an 80 per cent decrease in organics disposal, making the transition practical and sustainable. The altered collection frequency aims to encourage the proper sorting of organics, which is essential for the health of our environment.
Residents are strongly encouraged to diligently sort their organics to ensure that only appropriate items are placed in the designated organic waste bin. This includes fruit and vegetable peels, coffee grounds, eggshells, yard trimmings and shredded paper, along with soiled paper and cardboard, including pizza boxes.
Those enrolled in the City’s curbside collection program can visit Lloydminster.ca/curbside for a detailed list of what’s accepted and how to properly sort materials.
