Council approves FCSS Lloydminster 2024 grant allocations

Lloydminster, AB/SK – City Council approved the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Lloydminster grant allocation of $385,000 to 14 local organizations.

FCSS Lloydminster funding supports City-run programs and non-profit organizations that offer preventative social services. These funds serve Alberta and Saskatchewan residents.

The application process was open from August 21 to October 3, 2023. For the 2024 funding year, FCSS Lloydminster received 17 applications totalling $808,075. Fifteen applications were received in 2023, totalling $665,608.

All applications were submitted to the Community Services Advisory Committee. The committee is comprised of eight community representatives, appointed by Council, who volunteer their time to review, evaluate, and provide recommendations regarding community organization applications for municipal grants.

The FCSS grant stems from an 80/20 funding partnership between municipalities or Métis settlements and the Province of Alberta, provided through the FCSS Act and Regulation since 1966.
