Council approves 2024-25 Sask Lotteries community grant allocations

Lloydminster, AB/SK – City Council approved the 2024-2025 Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant allocations of $86,454 to 14 local organizations.

The Saskatchewan Lotteries Community Grant Program is a partnership among Sask. Sport Inc., Sask. Culture Inc. and the Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association Inc. The grant program assists in developing sport, culture and recreation programs by providing funds to non-profit community organizations operated by volunteers.

The City of Lloydminster receives funds based on its Saskatchewan population, which are then distributed to local non-profit volunteer community groups that provide programs on either side of the border.

  1. $4,825.50 to the Lloydminster and District Centennial Commemorative Association Inc. for Saving and Sharing the Midwest’s Televised History (Phase 11)
  2. $5,570 to the Libbie Young Centre Inc. for the Summer Recreation Program
  3. $6,152.50 to the Focus Society for Support Services for Invest in Our Youth
  4. $5,000 to Catholic Social Services – Gateway for Newcomers for Summergration
  5. $10,000 to Special Olympics Lloydminster for Special Olympics Lloydminster
  6. $500 to the Lloydminster & Area Brain Injury Society for Brain Fit
  7. $10,000 to the Lloydminster Interval Home Society for LCYC Sport and Recreation Program
  8. $10,000 to Inclusion Lloydminster for the Recreation Liaison
  9. $9,000 to Lloydminster Roman Catholic Separate School Division #89 for Youth Sports & Free Family Physical Activity events
  10. $5,000 to the Lloydminster Area Drug Strategy for RCMP Youth Camp
  11. $4,500 to the Heart of Treaty 6 for the 2024 Interschool Powwow
  12. $5,000 to Border Rage Lacrosse for Senior Lacrosse
  13. $5,000 to the Lloydminster Public Library for The Library Loves Lego
  14. $5,906 to Big Brothers Big Sisters for Kids Klub Summer

The application process was open from November 15, 2023, to January 8, 2024. For the 2024-2025 funding year, 22 applications totalling $157,528.50 were received.
