Community values align as Lloydminster & District Co-op joins Cenovus Energy Hub development
Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster is thrilled to announce a 10-year partnership with the Lloydminster & District Co-op, cementing the future of the community arena at the Cenovus Energy Hub.
The facility, now proudly named the Co-op Community Arena, seamlessly aligns with both organizations’ values and aspirations for sustainable growth while symbolizing the co-operation between local businesses and the municipality. Furthermore, the partnership will bolster local initiatives while providing additional resources for community programming and events, youth sports and recreational activities.
As part of its commitment to its members and the region, the Co-op, a locally owned community advocate for over 110 years, will participate in community events and initiatives, further strengthening the bond between the company and the residents in the Lloydminster area.
The City and the Co-op made the announcement at an ACAC female hockey matchup between the Lakeland Rustlers and the SAIT Trojans at the Russ Robertson Arena on Friday, February 2, 2024.
“The new Co-op Community Arena exemplifies a shared vision for community development and prosperity, and the collaboration with the Lloydminster and District Co-op serves as a symbol of the fruitful partnerships that can be forged between local government and local businesses. The City of Lloydminster is delighted to welcome the Lloydminster and District Co-op as a key partner in enhancing the recreational and social fabric of the Lloydminster region.” Mayor Gerald Aalbers, City of Lloydminster |
“Lloydminster and District Co-op is proud to support the new community arena initiative. As an organization, we are grounded by our values, and one of them is community.
