City of Lloydminster kicks off Community Cleanup with two spring events

Lloydminster, AB/SK— Residents and businesses are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in Lloydminster’s annual Community Cleanup, which features two seasonal initiatives: Pitch-In Week, presented by Mary Brown’s, and the Household Recycling Roundup, presented by Alberta Recycling Management Authority.

Pitch-In Week - Presented by Mary Brown’s
April 28 to May 4

The City of Lloydminster is calling on residents to participate in the annual Pitch-In Week, presented by Mary Brown’s to help beautify the community this spring. Whether sweeping sidewalks, picking up litter during a walk, or tidying up your yard, your efforts are appreciated—even small actions can make a big difference.
Pitch-In Kits

To help residents get started, the City is offering free Pitch-In Kits. Kits must be reserved by April 18 at Lloydminster.ca/CommunityCleanup. Once reserved, kits can be picked up between April 21 and 25 at the Operations Centre at 6623 52 Street. A limited number of extra kits will also be available for walk-ins.

Each kit includes:

  • Safety orientation and sharps protocol
  • Garbage bags and nitrile gloves
  • Sharps kit (container and tongs)
  • Colouring contest pages and crayons for kids
  • A small token of appreciation

Youth Art and Colouring Contest

Children and youth are also invited to get creative and share their vision for a clean community. Activity sheets are available at City Hall, the Lloydminster Public Library (LloydMall), the Operations Centre, or at Lloydminster.ca/CommunityCleanup.

  • Ages 4-8: Complete a colouring activity
  • Ages 9-16: Submit original artwork showcasing their favourite way to pitch-in

Submissions are due by 5 p.m. on May 5, either by dropping them off at City Hall (4420 50 Avenue) or emailing yourvoice@lloydminster.ca.
