A Moment with the Mayor: Communicating with Council

Thank you to everyone who exercised their civic duty and voted in the recent City of Lloydminster civic election. As your Mayor and Council, we are beginning a four-year term together to serve the citizens and businesses of Lloydminster. 

As you may know, there are some familiar faces and some new ones around the council chambers. Councillors Michael Diachuk, Jason Whiting, and David Lopez have been joined by Michele Charles Gustafson, Justin Vance, and Jim Taylor. It is my privilege to serve alongside these six individuals over the next four years. Together, we are the council for the City of Lloydminster.

There are several ways to connect with council members and the mayor. You can find our email addresses at Lloydminster.ca/Council, where you can reach each of us directly. Council members are also residents of the community, and you may see us out shopping, walking, or attending local events. I truly believe our entire council is open to hearing your thoughts, points of view, and concerns, and we welcome communication from you. If you wish to chat or meet with a council member in person, we kindly ask that you check if they have time available, as they may have prior commitments or be on their way to another event. Email remains the easiest way to reach us.

As we settle into our new term, Council will review and set goals and priorities for a strategic plan to guide the City of Lloydminster over the next four years. During the election campaign, we had many meaningful conversations with residents, and we will work hard to share our vision and ideas in the coming months. The Your Voice events will continue, providing more opportunities for residents to connect with council members and city administration on the projects and plans shaping Lloydminster’s future.

I truly hope our local media sources will continue their coverage of council meetings, Your Voice and city community events as we all have come to appreciate.
