A Moment with the Mayor: Celebrating Our Community’s Volunteers

We have countless reasons to be grateful and to support the organizations that make our community stronger. With endless opportunities to develop our skills and share our talents, we can come together to help those in need. Lloydminster is fortunate to have service organizations that cater to all ages, creating a spirit of volunteerism that truly sets this community apart. I am so proud to be from this community where we care for those in need, provide opportunities to grow, and nurture those who are our future leaders.  

Our community has youth organizations that foster leadership and mentor the leaders of tomorrow. Our adult organizations provide for a broad range of needs and allow us to gather and make friends and grow community.  It is exciting to see how Lloydminster residents band together to help those in need. Together we work to meet challenges and make this a great place to live.

The efforts and fundraising by these organizations result in upgrades to parks and playgrounds, access to medical devices, and fulfillment of countless other needs. Lloydminster clubs and service groups host special events and support projects both near and far, dedicating an incredible number of volunteer hours to every initiative. It’s easy to take these efforts for granted, but each of us has a role to play in volunteering.

Lloydminster volunteers contribute on every stage—locally, provincially, and globally. Our community members care deeply and are changing the world. Patience and commitment are essential, as plans often shift, and things don’t always go as expected. Without you, and without each of us doing our part, these events wouldn’t happen.

I cannot do justice to or appropriately thank all those who help out in our community.  But I would like to try to say thanks in my own way: You are important. What you are doing matters. Thank you for taking the time and making the effort — you are deeply appreciated.
