Blue bag recycling collection is an easy, efficient and eco-friendly way to recycle. Using blue bags allows a higher volume of recyclables to be placed out with greater ease so residents can recycle more:

Note: Shredded paper goes in the organics (green) bin.

Blue bag placement

  • Do not park in front of the blue bags and carts until they have been collected
    • Remember, angle parking in a cul-de-sac is not permitted. Items will not be collected.
  • Have your blue/clear bag out by 7 a.m. on your collection day
  • Place your recyclables at the curb
  • Keep your blue bag one metre (an arm's length) from your carts

Once collected, bagged recyclables are processed at a materials recovery facility and sorted according to type: metal, plastics and fibres (cardboard). The items are then recycled.
