Blue Bag Recycling Program

Blue bag recycling collection is an easy, efficient and eco-friendly way to recycle. Using blue bags protects materials from elements and prevents materials from blowing around the wind. Capturing Blue Bag Recyclables

Place additional receptacles for recyclables in home offices, beside homework stations or where you commonly deal with your mail or read the paper.

Winter Blue Bag Collection
Households are reminded to continue to place their blue bags either within one metre of their waste and organic carts, on the sidewalk or on their driveway. The City asks that blue bags not be placed on snow banks or windrows in the winter season.

What happens to my blue bags?
Once collected, blue bag recyclables are processed at a materials recovery facility and are sorted according to type: metal, plastics and fibres (cardboard). The items are then recycled.
