Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has issued a 30-day business license suspension for Vivint Canada in response to resident concerns about the company’s door-to-door sales practices.

Vivint Canada was notified of the suspension on Monday, July 17, 2017 through a letter provided by the office of the City Clerk. The suspension was issued in accordance with provisions set forth in Section 67 of the Business License Bylaw (16-2017).

“During the 30-day suspension, the City will gather information relating to the behaviour of Vivint Canada’s System’s sales representatives, who have been going door-to-door in our community in recent weeks,” said Doug Rodwell, City Clerk. “Following a review of the feedback collected over the next 30 days, a decision will be made on the status of the company’s business license.”

Violation of a business-license suspension may result in fines and permanent revocation of the business licence.

Residents are urged to share relevant experiences or concerns with the City’s Bylaw Services Department by email to bylaw@lloydminster.ca or by phone at 780-874-3710.
