Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has announced changes to its administrative structure, setting a course toward a more empowering and effective organization.

“Every part of the City’s organizational structure has been under review for the last couple of months,” said Interim City Manager Rick McDonald. “Following the Governance Audit completed in March 2017, our goal has been to streamline all administrative processes to ensure Lloydminster residents are receiving optimal value in City services.”

The structure changes included the elimination of three executive positions.

McDonald said he expects to share more information on the City’s organizational changes in coming weeks.

Background

In March 2017, the City of Lloydminster underwent a governance audit, completed by George B. Cuff & Associates. In April 2017, Mayor Gerald Aalbers introduced Rick McDonald of J.R. McDonald & Associates as the Interim City Manager. McDonald is contracted to remain with the City of Lloydminster until October 2017, or until a new permanent city Manager is chosen.
