Residential Street Sweeping Continues as Scheduled

Street Sweeping.jpg
Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster will continue residential street sweeping as originally scheduled. Weather permitting, sweeper units will be operating around the clock during the cleanup. Once original route has been completed, the areas most affected by flooding will be swept again.

Signs will be posted in residential neighborhoods in the affected area, advising residents at least 36 hours in advance of sweeping operations. If signs remain posted prior to the weekend, residents are permitted to park their vehicles on the street during the weekend, however, vehicles must be removed the following Monday to allow street sweeping operations to continue. In residential areas, sweeping operations are typically carried out between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday to Thursday.

To allow workers to efficiently complete sweeping operations, residents are asked to remove vehicles and curbside collection carts in advance of street sweeping operations.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution around street sweepers and maintain a safe distance of eight metres from all equipment. Residents with questions about the street sweeping program are asked to call 780-874-3700. Automatic email notifications about street sweeping are available by using the Notify Me service and signing up for ‘News and Announcements’ at www.lloydminster.ca.

Street-cleaning operations aim to minimize debris entering stormwater collection systems; reduce dust; and provide clean roadways.
