Lloydminster Tax Bills Due on June 30, 2017

Lloydminster, AB/SK – Lloydminster property owners are reminded Friday, June 30, 2017 is the deadline to pay property taxes. The 2017 property tax notices were mailed by the City of Lloydminster’s Finance Department on Friday, May 19, 2017. The following methods of payment can be used for property tax bills:
  • Cash
  • Cheque
  • Debit Card
  • Online Banking
Payment can be made in person at City Hall, 4420-50 Ave., during regular business hours. After-hour payments can be made by submitting a cheque, with the tax roll number included, in the City Hall mail slot. Property owners can also pay their property taxes at their financial institution of choice. Payment cannot be accepted with a credit card. After June 30, 2017, penalties will be applied to outstanding property taxes.

Property owners can view their property tax information online at www.lloydminster.ca/finance by selecting ‘Property Taxes’ and ‘Online Property Tax Information Database.’ To view the current balance owing, property owners are required to enter their tax roll number or address.

Property tax notices will be sent to all property owners on yellow paper. If property owners have not received their 2017 Tax Notice by Friday, June 9, 2017, they are asked to contact the City’s Tax Department by phone at 780-875-6184 ext. 2124 or by email at taxes@lloydminster.ca. If the property owner has made arrangements with their financial institution to provide payment, no further action will be required by the property owner.


Fixed, Monthly and Annual payment options available

Property owners can choose one of the following three payment plan options for the 2017 property tax period:

  • Fixed Payment: Property owners authorize the City to debit their account by a fixed dollar amount monthly.
  • Monthly Payment: Property owners authorize the City to debit their account an amount based on 8.5 percent of the current year levy.
  • Annual Payment: Property owners authorize the City to debit their account the full balance owing on the due date (June 30).

Anyone interested Fixed, Monthly of Annual payment options must complete the PAD Plan Agreement and attach a void cheque, and return both items in person or by mail to the Finance Department.

Property taxes provide 29 percent of the City’s annual operating budget, which funds a wide range of public services including policing and protective services, street maintenance, waste management and the operation of parks, among others.
