Community Initiatives Fund Provides $10,000 for Improvements at Lloydminster’s Legion Ball Park

Lloydminster, AB/SK – The City of Lloydminster has received a $10,000 grant from the Saskatchewan Community Initiatives Fund for improvements to washroom facilities at the Legion Ball Park.

Located at Hwy 16 East and 42 Avenue, Legion Ball Park includes six ball diamonds; equipped with a washroom and umpire change facility. Improvement work on the washroom facility began in fall 2015 and was completed in spring 2016.

“The washroom facilities at the Legion Ball Park are approximately 30 years old and were in need of modernization,” said Cindy Rekimowich, General Manager of Parks and Recreation. “The money received through the Community Initiatives Fund has helped the City of Lloydminster ensure our beloved Legion Ball Park remains a comfortable and attractive recreational space for the enjoyment of local user groups and visitors to our City.”

The Legion Ball Park is host to tournaments and special events throughout the season, welcoming thousands of users from Lloydminster and from neighboring communities.
